Hazel Griffith, also known as ‘Sparrow or Bird’ of Checker Hall, St. Lucy entered peacefully into rest at age 81.  Former Chef of The Sandpiper Inn.

Reputed husband of the late Anita Patricia Husbands.

Father of Mitchell Husbands (Executive Chef, Nonsuch Bay Resort, Antigua), Shawn Husbands (Teacher – Mount Tabor Primary School), Shawna Husbands (Chef, Nikki Beach) and Marsha Husbands (Sandals Barbados).

Step-father of Karen Husbands (Canada).

Grandfather of Shakitta, Shakiah, Shaquana, Keshawn, Malyka, La-Terie, Mitchell Jnr., Maliqu and the late La-Shaé Husbands.

Uncle of Sandra Henry.

Father-in-law of Leann Husbands (B’dos Water Authority), Lydia Husbands (Antigua) and David Browne (Sandals Barbados).

The funeral of the late Hazel Griffith leaves Earl’s Funeral Home, Half Moon Fort, St. Lucy, on Thursday, May 3rd at 2:00 p.m. for St. Lucy Parish Church, Near Nestfield, St. Lucy where relatives and friends are asked to meet for the Service of Thanksgiving and the interment at 4:00 p.m.  The organist is kindly asked to attend.

Relatives and friends can visit in the chapel of Earl’s Funeral Home, Half Moon Fort, St. Lucy to reflect the memories of Hazel Griffith from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Floral tributes may be sent to Earl’s Funeral Home no later than 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
