Hamilton Seymour Benn, also known as “Hammie” or “Benn” of Lot 358 Husbands Gardens, St. James, formerly of Corbin’s Road, Ashton Hall, St. Peter entered peacefully into rest at age 62.

Retired Ordinary Seaman of Barbados Coast Guard Ship.

Former Husband of Shirley Benn.

Son of  Isalene Griffith and Stephen Broomes.

Stepson of Gilbert Griffith.

Grandson of the late Loretta and Alphonso Benn and Verona and Edgerton Broomes.

Brother of  Stephen and Pedro Griffith, Dave Sobers, Jude and Lester Broomes, Joelle Yarde and six others (of Laborie, St. Lucia.)

Nephew of  Elmo Benn, Arthur Hope, Vivian Stuart, Bertilla, Darwin, Berkley, Winston and Charles Broomes.

Uncle of  Rashad and Summer Griffith and Stefon Holligan.  

Cousin of  Hal, Hazel, Angus, Goeffrey, Michael, Lisa, Tonya, Hailey, Pedro Benn, Betty and Jeffrey Osbourne, Stevenson Harris, Harriette Williams, Davidson Griffith, Trevor and Annette Stuart and many more.

Brother-in-law of  Rosline Griffith.

Relative of the Griffith, Harris, Benn, Scantlebury, Daniel and Rock families

Friend of Andre King, Alphonso Green, Judy Roett, Edson Gibson, Adrian Brathwaite, Patrick Dottin, Herbbie Gibbons, Sheldon Small, St. Anthony School Family Chat, Husbands Garden Westwood Park Group, Jordans Fitts Village Supermarket Management and staff, and many many more.

The funeral of the late Hamilton Seymour Benn leaves Earl’s Funeral Home, Half Moon Fort, St. Lucy, on Saturday August 26th 2023 at 8:00 a.m. for the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Hall, St. Peter where relatives and friends are asked to meet for the Service of Thanksgiving at 10:00 a.m.

The funeral will then proceed to Casuarina Lawns for the interment.

No mourning colours have been requested.

All Saints’ Anglican church choir is kindly asked to attend.

Relatives and friends can visit the chapel of Earl’s Funeral Home, Half Moon Fort, St. Lucy to reflect on the memories of Hamilton Seymour Benn from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday.  

Floral tributes may be sent to Earl’s Funeral Home no later than 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.
