Elma Ianthe Bancroft, age 90, formerly Weston, St. James.  Retired Janitor of St. Alban’s Primary School.  

Daughter of the late Josephine and Aubrey Quintyne (Supers, St. Philip). Beloved Mother of Glendeen Bancroft, Maria Bancroft (St. Lucia) and Peter Bancroft (U.S.A.).  Grandmother of Kerrie Bancroft, Jernan Bancroft and Moan James (both of St. Lucia), Taisha, Patrick and Anthony McClean (U.S.A.).  Sister of Michael and Merlene Quintyne, Vadna Murrell, the late Ruby, Ralph and Dalton Quintyne and Ilene Mayers.  Aunt of Cherry, Wennell, Lionel, Kay, Derrick, Mechelle and Cheareen Quintyne, Elaine Quintyne-Clarke, Melvin, Erskine and Chester Mayers and many others.  Cousin of many.  Relative of the Bancroft, Quintyne and Bradshaw families (College Savannah, St. John).

The funeral of the late Elma Ianthe Bancroft leaves Earl’s Funeral Home, Half Moon Fort, St. Lucy, on Tuesday, December 29th at 12 noon for St. Alban’s Anglican Church, Lower Carlton, St. James where relatives and friends are asked to meet for the Service of Thanksgiving at 2:00 p.m.  The funeral will then proceed to St. James Cemetery for the interment.  The organist and choir are kindly asked to attend.  Mourning colors are optional.

Special thanks to the doctor and nurses of Female Ward 2 of the Gordon Cummins District Hospital, Rock Hall, St. Thomas.

Floral tributes may be sent to Earl’s Funeral Home no later than 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. 

All COVID-19 protocols will be in effect with 100 persons allowed to attend the service in the church.  The physical distancing of 3 feet will apply to persons at the graveside.
