Dennis Ebenezer Layne, affectionately known as “Acoy” or “Denboy” of Trents, St. James, entered peacefully into rest at age 81 years. Sunrise: July 8th, 1941, Sunset: January 28th, 2023, Retired Maintenance Officer of U.W.I Cave Hill Campus.

Loving Companion of Ruby ‘Shirley’ Bahadur.

Son of the late Darrell and Albertha Layne.

Devoted Father of John Richards (Canada).

Brother of the Yvette (USA), Bently (Retired Supt BPF), Anthony Layne (Retired Sgt BPF), Laura (SDA School), Peter Gervais (Self-employed) and the late Everton and Wilkie.

Uncle of Nicole Johnson (NHC), Toniann Alexander (Westbury Primary), Janelle Rochester-Layne (QEH), Catrina Layne-Clarke (USA), Natalie Whitehall (Ellerslie School) and Jamar Layne (Good Shepherd Primary).

Great Uncle of Tayeshanna Alexander, Arielle Johnson, Naje’ Rochester-Layne and five others.

Cousin of  Leyland and Sylvia Gibson, Arnold Alleyne, Yvonne, Patsy (Canada), Lester Layne the late Anita, Eugene, Myrtle Gibson and Clement Taitt and many others.

 Uncle-in-law of Maurice Johnson and Ricardo Alexander.

The funeral of the late Dennis Ebenezer Layne leaves Earl’s Funeral Home, Half Moon Fort, St. Lucy, on Wednesday, 8th February, 2023 at 8: 00 a.m. for Holetown Methodist Church, Holetown, St. James where relatives and friends are asked to meet for the Service of Thanksgiving at 9:30 a.m.

A Private Cremation will be held at a later date.

In Lieu of flowers a donation is being asked for the upkeep of the church.
