It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Maureen Theodora Ward nee Whitney, affectionately known as ‘Mama’ of Rose Hill, St. Peter. Sheentered peacefully into rest at age 86.

Beloved Wife of the late Bishop Ainsley “Hazel Rice” Ward.
Devoted Mother and Mother-in-law of Lionel and Maureen, Trevor and Hortensia, Adrian and Linda, Derek and Sheron and Steven Ward.
Adoptive Mother of Anthony Mayers.
Cherished Grandmother of Kenny and Kevin Ward, Deanna Cain, Dionne Browne, Rondel Ward, Asha Humphrey, Stephan Ward, Steveanna Ward and Aaron Austin.
Proud Great-Grandmother of nine.
Sister of Hauden, Philip, Jeffrey and Douglas Whitney, the late Maurice Archer, Michael Fenty, Martin Whitney and Leone Joseph.
Aunt of many.
Relative of the Whitney, Archer, Fenty and Griffith families.
Friend of Sybil Griffith, Monica Knight, Doreen Holder, Lisa and others.
The funeral of the late Maureen Theodora Ward leaves Earl’s Funeral Home, Half Moon Fort, St. Lucy on Wednesday July 23rd, 2025 at 12 noon for the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Hall, St. Peter where relatives and friends are asked to meet for the Celebration of life and Service of Thanksgiving at 2:00 p.m.
The funeral will then proceed to All Saints Anglican Church Cemetery, Pleasant Hall, St. Peter for the interment.
