Walter DaCosta Brathwaite, also known as DJ Blue of #31 Durants, Lodge Road, Christ Church and Eastmond Land, Brittons Hill, St. Michael entered peacefully into rest at age 50.  Former employee of Oran Ltd, Homebase Entertainment & Recar-Air Airconditioning Services.

Husband of Lynn Chase-Brathwaite.  Father of Recarda, Lyren and Lauritta Brathwaite and Peddrina Chase. Grandfather of Drevon and Dreena Chase.  Brother of Yvette Maynard, Joyann, Trevor, Troy and Lorenzo Brathwaite, Lennox Brathwaite (North Carolina) and the late Winston Brathwaite.  Uncle of many. Cousin of many.  Brother-in-law of Laura Holder, Dexter Chase, Sharon Brathwaite and Anthony Maynard.  Relative of the Brathwaite, Sobers, Chase and Maynard families. Friend of DJ Cat, Allah, Jim (Driver B92), Michael Welcome, Ryan Hutchinson and many others.

The funeral of the late Walter DaCosta Brathwaite leaves Earl’s Funeral Home, Half Moon Fort, St. Lucy, on Friday, December 18th at 7:45 a.m. for St. Matthias Anglican Church, St. Matthias Road, Christ Church where relatives and friends are asked to meet for the Service of Thanksgiving at 10:00 a.m.  The funeral will then proceed to Westbury Cemetery for the interment.  The organist and choir are kindly asked to attend.  No mourning colors by special request however the color Blue is preferred.

Floral tributes may be sent to Earl’s Funeral Home no later than 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. 

All COVID-19 protocols will be in effect with 180 persons allowed to attend the service in the church.  The physical distancing of 3 feet will apply to persons at the graveside.
