Mavis Thelma Broomes nee Dawe,  of Paynes Bay, St. James entered peacefully into rest at age 92.  

Daughter of the late Jeoptha and Ellen Dawe.

Mother of Gregory Dawe, Phyllis Dawe-Layne, Alinda Broomes, Lorraine Broomes (Playfair Ltd.), Alvin  Broomes (Q.E.H.), and Wendell Boomes (Colony Club). 

Grandmother of Jamar Broomes (Ocean 2 Hotel), Abeo Broomes (KM2) and Lasas

ha Layne (The Crane Resort).

Great–Grandmother of Jaquan Fields and Aydan Layne-Bacchus. 

Cousin of Andrea Griffith, Pamela and Paul Inniss (all of the U.K.).

Mother-in-law of Yvette Broomes and Granville Layne.

Relative of the Blanchette, Paynes, Inniss, Broomes, Sandiford, Henry and Cyrus families. Friend of many.

The funeral of the late Mavis Thelma Broomes leaves Earl’s Funeral Home, Half Moon Fort, St. Lucy, on Saturday, March 19th, 2022 at 8:00 a.m. for Paynes Bay Methodist Church, Paynes Bay, St. James where relatives and friends are asked to meet for the Service of Thanksgiving at 10:00 a.m.

The funeral will then proceed to St. James Cemetery for the interment.  

The organist and choir are kindly asked to attend.
