Laurie Godwin Chase, also known as “Chasie or Fatman” of 31 Durants, Christ Church formerly of Rockley & Hart’s Gap, Christ Church entered into rest on September 18th, 2021.  Retired Sales Supervisor, Good Times Snacks.

Husband of Merlene Chase.  Son of the late Duncan and Elvy Chase.  Father of Laura Holder, Lyle Dexter Chase and Lynn Chase-Brathwaite. Adopted Father of many. Grandfather of Carlyle, Peddrina, Recarda, Trinity, Lyren, Demario, Lauritta, Laurone, Liam and Shaniqua.  Great–Grandfather of Drevon and Dreena. Brother of Selma and John Chase.  Uncle of Karen, Lenora, Charmaine, Corelita, Charlene, Janelle and many others.  Great–Uncle of many.  Father-in-law of Oneal Holder, Caroline Chase and the late Walter Brathwaite.  Son-in-law of Elsie Holder.  Brother-in-law of Frank Holder, Carol Griffith, Veronica Cato, Roy Husbands and many others.  Relative of the Winsborough, Chase, Sobers, Depradine, Skeete and Rock families. Friend of Andrew Elcock, Trevor Corbin, George Holdip, Gail, Gloria Belgrave, Sheila Thomas, Louis Barrett, June Best and many others.

The funeral of the late Laurie Godwin Chase leaves Earl’s Funeral Home, Half Moon Fort, St. Lucy, on Friday, September 24th at 8:00 a.m. for St. Matthias Anglican Church, St. Matthias Road, Hastings, Christ Church where relatives and friends are asked to meet for the Service of Thanksgiving at 10:00 a.m.  The cortege will then proceed to Westbury Cemetery for the interment.  The organist is kindly asked to attend.  Attendance to the funeral service is by invitation only however viewing will be at the Church from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

Floral tributes may be sent to Earl’s Funeral Home no later than 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. 

All COVID-19 protocols will be in effect.
