Gloria Sylvester James nee Drakes of Bottom Close, Wildey,  St. Michael, formerly of Princess Royal Avenue, The Pine, St. Michael entered peacefully into rest at the age of 87.

 

Wife of the late William James.

Daughter of the late Elwortha and Gladstone Drakes.

Mother of  Cornelia (Nell) Goodridge, Charles Drakes, Margot St. Hill, Sonia Drakes-Bancroft (USA), Bryan, Michael and Dorian James, the late Esme and Jenny Drakes and Wayne James.

Adopted Mother of Vettie Taylor.

Grandmother of Carl and Sherwin Drakes, Rohan and Roderick Goodridge, Janelle Worrell, Sophia Leacock, Keshia Bascom, Lisa Olabisi , Julian Drakes and Gloria Myers( USA), Paul and Shermel Drakes, Dwaine Jones, Sharekia, Kadiene, Keshon, Jordan and Gianni James.

Great Grandmother of 30.

Great-Great Grandmother of 2.

Sister of  the late Gwen, Roy and Lisle Bipsham, Jean Smith and Clyde Holder.

The funeral of the late Gloria Sylvester James nee Drakes leaves Earl’s Funeral Home, Half Moon Fort, St. Lucy, on Monday, September 16th  at 11:30 a.m. for The People’s Cathedral Church, Bishop’s Court Hill, St. Michael where relatives and friends are asked to meet for the Service of Thanksgiving at 1:30 p.m.  The cortege will then proceed to Westbury Cemetery for the interment.

Floral tributes may be sent to Earl’s Funeral Home no later than 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
