George Sylvan Mapp, of Isolation Road, Belleplaine, St. Andrew and formerly of Blades Hill, St. Philip entered peacefully into rest at age 61.  Well known Carpenter of Isolation Road, St. Andrew.

Lifelong Companion of Cynthia Reid.  Son of Clarice Mapp and the late George Clinton Mapp. Step-father of Rodney, Mario, Carlo and Kerri-Ann Reid. Beloved Brother of Judy Mapp-Beckles, Monica Lovell, Mariam and Rawle Mapp, Lilian Barrow (U.K.), the late Edna Branch, Levi, Gladys, Eulalie and Rose Mapp.  Uncle of Charles Mapp, Jamel Harewood and many others.  Brother-in-law of Michael Beckles, Leroy Lovell and Joan Mapp.  Relative of the Mapp, Absalom, Antrobus, Stuart and Sealy families. Friend of many.

The funeral of the late George Sylvan Mapp leaves Earl’s Funeral Home, Half Moon Fort, St. Lucy, on Tuesday, September 22nd at 1:00 p.m. for St. Andrew’s Parish Church, Walkers, St. Andrew where relatives and friends are asked to meet for the Service of Thanksgiving and the Interment at 3:00 p.m.  The organist is kindly asked to attend.

Floral tributes may be sent to Earl’s Funeral Home no later than 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. 

All COVID-19 protocols will be in effect with 100 persons allowed to attend the service in the church.  The physical distancing of 3 feet will apply to persons at the graveside.
