Cherefine Walkes, affectionately known as “Verna” of Dunscombe, St. Thomas entered peacefully into rest at age 92.

Mother of Ambadeen Watson (Mount Gay Distilleries Ltd), Betty Rock, James and Samuel Reid.  Grandmother of Durwyn Selman (Carter’s & Co. Ltd.), Kurwyn Selman (Collins Ltd), Denese O’Garro, Natasha and Deryck Rock.  Great Grandmother of 5.  Great Aunt of Shirley Phillips, Pamela Bowen (Imaging UltraSound), Elliott Blades (U.S.A.), Orlan Roett (Canada), the late Dr. Vincent Clarke and Arlene Blackett (U.S.A.).  Cousin of Dr. Mary Wiltshire, Vere Ellis and many others in the U.S.A and England.  Relative of the Ellis, Maynard, Clarke, Springer and Sandiford families.  Friend of Rev. James Eugene, Members of the Dunscombe Revival Faith Centre and many others too numerous to mention.

The funeral of the late Cherefine Walkes leaves Earl’s Funeral Home, Half Moon Fort, St. Lucy, on Tuesday, November 13th at 12:00 noon for Dunscombe Revival Faith Centre, Porey Spring, St. Thomas where relatives and friends are asked to meet for the Service of Thanksgiving at 2:00 p.m.  The funeral will then proceed to St. James Cemetery for the interment.

Relatives and friends can visit in the chapel of Earl’s Funeral Home, Half Moon Fort, St. Lucy to reflect the memories of Cherefine Walkes from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Floral tributes may be sent to Earl’s Funeral Home no later than 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
